Meet Your Eye Care Team

Dr. Christine Yeung

Dr. Yeung completed her undergraduate studies and obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree with honours status from the University of Waterloo. She is board certified by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and the American National Board of Examiners in Optometry. She has a passion for myopia management and is not only a long-standing member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, but holds a fellowship status in the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (FIAOMC). As well, she has received certification for the treatment and management of ocular disease.

    Having worn Ortho-K lenses herself for many years, Dr. Yeung has a special interest in myopia control and orthokeratology. She has been fitting ortho-k lenses for over 15 years. A native to Mississauga, Dr. Yeung is delighted to return to the area and practice in the town of Oakville. "I am extremely excited to serve this community and give back to this amazing town."

    Outside of the office, Dr. Yeung enjoys golf and tennis. She is also an active member of the Toronto Trillium Lions Clubs. Having served as President of the Toronto Hong Kong Leo Club, Dr. Yeung is passionate about giving back to the community, both at local and international levels. "It is extremely rewarding to volunteer within the neighborhood and give-back."

Dr. Christina Hong

Dr. Hong attended McMaster University for her undergraduate education to obtain her Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) degree and went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo. Dr. Hong works with patients of all ages. She has had experience providing eye care to veterans during her ocular disease rotation at the Lexington Veterans Medical Affairs clinic in Kentucky. She has also had disease-focused rotations in Mississauga and Richmond Hill including providing care with geriatric home visits and pre-and post-operative refractive and cataract surgery management. Her clinical interests include pre-and post-operative management, myopia control, and speciality contact lenses including orthokeratology and scleral lenses.

    During her studies in Waterloo, Dr. Hong has volunteered with Canadian National Institute for the Blind and provided sighted guidance for visually impaired individuals. She has also volunteered on multidisciplinary medical missions in Honduras to provide eye care to those in need. She looks forward to continuing to volunteer regularly in her community and abroad.

    Outside of the office, Dr. Hong enjoys playing the piano and exploring new recipes in cooking and baking. She also enjoys practicing languages. She is working on improving her fluency in Cantonese and aims to learn Mandarin in the future as well. Born in Mississauga and raised in Oakville, Dr. Hong is enthusiastic to join the practice and provide quality care in Oakville.

 

Dr. Nancy Liu

Dr. Liu obtained her Bachelor's of Science from the University of Western Ontario and completed her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Waterloo. She then moved to Boston to complete a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the Boston Veterans Affair Hospital where she worked closely with ophthalmologists to care for patients with complex eye disease, including those with systemic diseases that affect the eyes. Dr. Liu has contributed case presentations to several conferences and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Liu provides primary care to patients of all ages including myopia management and dry eye treatment.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Liu enjoys hiking, baking and spending time with her Bichon, Nini. Dr. Liu is an avid traveller and has attended two international medical mission trips, providing eye care to underserved communities in Haiti and Nicaragua.



Dr. My Huynh

Dr. Huynh brings an exceptional level of vision care and eye health services to the Oakville area. After completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Huynh attended and graduated from SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. She provides primary eye care services and has experience working closely with an ophthalmologist for over 8 years in the treatment and management of various ocular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.

    Beyond the practice of optometry, Dr. Huynh is an avid world traveler and enjoys being physically active. She has a passion for yoga and is a certified yoga instructor. In her spare time, she also enjoys photography, hiking, and meditation.

    Dr. Huynh has travelled to Peru to provide eye care for those in underserved areas. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality of vision and professional eye health care to all her patients. Dr. Huynh is excited to join the Oakville Eye Care team and looks forward to serving the local community.
